The Cocktail Party

The Cocktail Party – The Retreat I once attended a retreat meant to help people get in TOUCH with their inner self motivations.  We were required to participate in an exercise that they called “The Cocktail Party”.  The Cocktail Party meant that they cordoned off about 100 people in the space size of a very tiny room that was “supposed” to be a cocktail party.  This imaginary cocktail party lasted for 4 hours! The experiment was designed to simulate a crowded Cocktail Party experience. They grouped us together in order to monitor our behavioral patterns that emerged in an enclosed social setting. After about 10-15 minutes of trying the tow the party line, something inside snapped.  It was too tiring trying to fit in, so I simply sat down in a corner (something NO ONE ELSE HAD THOUGHT TO DO YET) and then lit up an imaginary joint and began (more…)

Duality: Cruella or Cinderella

Duality: Cruella or Cinderella It took a lifetime to realize how cut and dry, black and white, all or nothing I am as a person. I blocked someone on Facebook today.  It then landed on the page which shows the number of blocked people. OMG, I AM COMPLETELY INTOLERANT!!!  LOL!  If someone crosses the line, snap!  Or if pushed too far, snap!  Or if called a wrong word! Bam!  Racists, Bigots, Rude, Disrespectful people, Gone! I take no sh*t.  Never realized this personality aspect until now. It is vital now to become a more tolerant human being. Living an ALL OR NOTHING life apparently is how things have been for a while. Even a family member was blocked.  (She will be unblocked now).  There has been absolutely zero tolerance for B.S.    Recent pics have begun looking older and more like Cruella Deville instead of Cinderella.  Could this come from (more…)

The Scar Left Behind

The Scar Left Behind From Being Severely Morbidly Obese I have a deep emotional scar that was left behind from being severely morbidly obese.  I experienced a lifetime of ridicule.  I developed a severe case of agoraphobia which made it difficult for me to leave my home for many years. Agoraphobia is caused from traumatic experiences. For over 10 years I barely left my home.  There was a 5 year stretch when I only left my home to go to the Emergency Room.  I was wracked with deep fears that others would belittle me because of obesity.  I was in a wheelchair for over seven years due to a debilitating fall.  People would literally jeer or say cruel things because I was a fat woman in wheelchair. I was told by a doctor that I would never walk again, so I consider every single day that I can dance to be a miracle. (more…)
